If you’ve ever asked AI to write something and gotten back bland, corporate mush, the fix isn’t a better AI — it’s telling it how you sound. In about ten minutes we’ll build a brand-voice writer using the free AI Prompt Builder: an assistant that writes captions, emails, and blurbs in a voice that’s recognizably yours, every time.
What we’re building
We’ll create a copywriter for a small coffee roaster with a warm, witty, down-to-earth voice. It’ll write on-brand marketing copy and avoid the buzzwords that make everything sound the same. Swap in your own brand’s personality as we go.
Two minutes of prep
- Its job: write on-brand marketing copy — captions, product blurbs, emails.
- Its voice: pick three words that describe your brand (ours: witty, warm, direct).
- Its rules: lead with the benefit; keep sentences short and easy to read aloud.
- Its limits: no corporate jargon or buzzwords; don’t overpromise.
The example field is the secret weapon for brand voice. One sentence written the way you’d actually say it teaches the AI more than any list of adjectives.
Building it in the tool

- A Custom GPT your whole team can use to stay on-brand — here’s how.
- A chat window: paste the prompt, then ask for “three caption options” or “a launch email.”
- Anywhere with a persona field: your social scheduler or email tool may let you save it.
Making it yours
- Add two or three more examples — a good email, a product blurb, a bio — to sharpen the voice across formats.
- Name your no-go words. If “game-changing” or “artisanal” makes you wince, add it to the “never” list.
- Ask for options. “Give me three, from playful to plain” beats accepting the first draft.
